The overdue Bejing takes...

First day in Beijing spent visiting Tianeman Square, The Forbidden City, a lot of gardens, going to a showing at the National Theatre of Beijing and wondering back through the city at a more peaceful nighttime hour. Doing all this the second time round was not quite the magic I felt during the first, but nevertheless I'm so glad to have had my camera with me.

The beautiful liquid night sky that was the road lit with streetlights under translucent thin sheets of the earlier rain. So serene, so charming, all under the muted bustle of the relentless traffic; sublime matters of the unwinding mind.

Day two spent at the Great Wall of China, a lot of dramatic (China style) bargaining and negotiating our transport there, came back and ate scorpions at Wángfǔjǐng 王府井, Sanlintun 三里屯, and came back to get some street food at the end of the night outside the Tsinghua university. ummm

The day before the last was spent riding around the campus and visiting the Olympic park before slaving away /packing up last minute stuff from my brother's accommodation and catching the taxi to the craziest train ride I've experienced... tbc
